Styling, illustration, and interface design for an evil rhyme game.
I had a blast helping Evil Studios design the style for their newest mobile game! From the game mascot and logo to UI/UX and map designs, I was tasked with building a modern look that matches the game's unique personality.
The Evil team was looking for a style that is fun and a little weird. We started with the game interface style: bright gradients, vector environments, high contrast black and white tiles, and a little bit of old-school cartoon vibe. This was a great jumping off point to introduce the Skelly character to guide players through the game with jokes and insults. He was the perfect mix of friendly and evil and the scene worked great with our color palette.
This graveyard scenery eventually evolved into a map for users to explore multiple levels. And from there we introduced several new environments for players to explore as they complete puzzles. I enjoyed learning about SVG assets and their use in Unity 2D for this project. We were able to really bring these map scenes to life with effects and animations.
